          Job Title: Accountant

          Responsible to: Financial Controller

          Location: Head Office, Central London

          We are looking for an accountant to join our busy accounts team in our Central London head office. You’ll be reporting to the Financial Controller and assist in a variety of tasks.

          Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

          • Working with external accountants to build forecasting and cashflow models
          • Analyse and identify business processes in need of optimisation – work with Finance Manager and Accountants to implement structured systems and processes
          • Project manage and maintain streamlined processes
          • Dealing with accounting queries and issues for the BE Offices group
          • Assisting with monthly management accounts for multiple subsidiaries
          • Assist with preparation of statutory accounts
          • Assist with VAT returns
          • Assisting in the audit process
          • Any other ad-hoc duties as and when required by the Financial Controller, in-particular at month end, assisting with budgets and forecasting.
          • Some transactional work (posting invoices, journals and payments) relating to the more complex subsidiaries
          • The ability to produce accounts
          • Cash flow forecasting

          Keys Skills:

          • Good oral and written communication skills
          • The ability to work as part of a team
          • Comfortable dealing with department heads and directors
          • Excellent analytical and numerical abilities
          • Sound business knowledge
          • Accuracy and an eye for detail.

When substantial changes occur, the post holder will be consulted and before the change is introduced and reasonable notice will be given.


          Personal Specification:

          Qualifications and Education

          • GCSE’s or above in business related area – essential
          • Part qualified CIMA/ACCA – essential


          • 2 years working in a similar role – essential
          • Previous use of NetSuite  – desirable
          • Knowledge of Caseware – desirable

          Skills and Abilities

          • Accountancy qualified – desirable, however open to a candidate who has strong experience
          • Strong accounting knowledge – essential
          • Excellent telephone and face-to-face communication skills – essential
          • High numeracy skills – essential
          • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel (intermediate) and Outlook – essential

          Work requirements

          • Full time position working business hours Monday to Friday – essential
          • Occasional irregular hours if required to meet business needs – essential
