          Job Title: Assistant Accountant

          Responsible to: Financial Controller

          Location: Head Office, Central London

          Salary: Competitive, to be discussed

          We are looking for an assistant accountant to join our busy accounts team in our Central London head office. You’ll be reporting to the Financial Controller and assist in a variety of tasks.

          You’ll be dealing with clients and stakeholders every day so professionalism is of the utmost importance.           We have training available every year to help you grow in your role in order for you to progress further when opportunities become available.

           

          Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

          • End-to-end production of monthly group management accounts including; balance sheet reconciliations, P&L analyses and consolidation
          • Support the team in processing of supplier invoices
          • Group treasury management, including international transfers and payment runs
          • VAT/GST reporting and submissions
          • Management of the loan note schedule including; calculating interest due and reporting taxation on interest paid
          • Ownership of Accounts Payable
          • Assisting Financial Controller with preparation of annual group financial statements
          • Production of ad-hoc reports as required for senior management
          • Project work on both reporting and profit improvement
          • Other regulatory requirements as necessary

          Keys Skills:

          • Holds a degree in a finance related discipline
          • Part-qualified accountant with accredited association (i.e. CIMA, ACCA, ACA etc.)
          • A team player who has excellent attention to detail, great communication skills, a strong work ethic, and an ability to work under pressure and within strict deadlines
          • Good oral and written communication skills
          • The ability to work as part of a team
          • Comfortable dealing with department heads and directors
          • Excellent analytical and numerical abilities
          • Sound business knowledge
          • Accuracy and an eye for detail.

When substantial changes occur, the post holder will be consulted and before the change is introduced and reasonable notice will be given.

           

          Personal Specification:

          Qualification and Education

          • GCSE’s or above in business related area – essential
          • Part qualified CIMA/ACCA – essential

          Experience

          • 1-2 years working in a similar role – essential
          • Previous use of NetSuite  – desirable
          • Kowledge of Caseware – desirable

          Skills and Abilities

          • Strong accounting knowledge – essential
          • Excellent telephone and face-to-face communication skills – essential
          • High numeracy skills – essential
          • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook – essential

          Work requirements

          • Full time position working business hours Monday to Friday – essential
          • Occasional irregular hours if required to meet business needs – essential
