BE Offices, the leading serviced office provider have announced a search to find two employees to take part in a unique and rewarding opportunity to volunteer at a children’s orphanage in rural Cambodia.
In conjunction with PoD, a leading non-profit organisation, the two employees will have the opportunity to spend two weeks working in an orphanage in a busy rural town called Takeo, about 1.5 hours south of Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The initiative has been launched as part of Business Environments ongoing commitment to their “Giving Something Back” scheme which includes the donation of nearly 10,000 hours of paid volunteer time for employees and their monthly charity donations scheme that runs at all their UK locations.
Victoria Shelley, CSR Development Manager said, “We have been actively encouraging our teams to volunteer for favourite charities for nearly 2 years now. The Cambodia scheme is our small attempt to extend that goodwill further and also enable two of our colleagues to experience a real life changing trip”.
By volunteering at the orphanage the Business Environment team members will help children who have had an incredibly tough life. Education can mean the difference between a life of absolute poverty and a life of opportunity and freedom. During the trip the volunteers will help to care for over 50 children aged between 6-18 years old at the PoD orphanage in rural Cambodia as well as getting involved with teaching in rural schools and supporting the work of local monks.
The project will run from Saturday 18th May- Sunday 2nd June 2013, all employees are invited to apply. The lucky two will be drawn by HR Director Nazia Ahmed in March 2013.
