If you want workers in your serviced offices to be happy and productive at work, put some flowers on their desk.
According to the results of a new study, that is the best way to ensure positive attitudes and creative work from your employees in office space in London and the rest of the UK, Digital Healthcare reported.
Texas A&M University completed an eight-month study testing the effects of introducing plants and flowers into the workplace and found that those surrounded by flora and fauna demonstrated a higher level of innovative thinking and problem-solving.
Lead researcher Dr Roger Ulrich said: “Our research shows that a change as simple as adding flowers and plants can be important in the most meaningful way to businesses in the modern economy.”
House of Plants said that having plants and flowers indoors improves air quality by removing harmful contaminates, and thus makes us feel good. They also control humidity and emit oxygen into the air.
Several studies have been completed over the years which show that the office environment can have an impact on staff motivation and productivity. Blank walls do little to inspire creativity.
