The way office space in London or the rest of the UK is designed can have a major impact on atmosphere and the way people interact with one another, according to the British Council for Offices.

An informal layout and a more traditional layout can impact seriously on the dynamic of the workforce, showing that employers must take design into consideration in planning office space.

Gary Wingrove, incoming president of the British Council for Offices, said: “We forget that the way we operate when it comes to work is vastly different to the way it was ten, 15 or 20 years ago. I’m not sure the design of an office reflects that. [Employers] need to consider what people do when they come to an office as opposed to what we used to do when we came into the office.”

GTrends says that office design is not only important for creating a good working environment for its employees, but also for giving a good impression to those who come into the office.
