Serviced office spaces in Milton Keynes can now gain access to BT’s new fibre optic, high-speed broadband network.
The internet service provider (ISP) announced that it had completed the rollout of the next-generation, fibre-to-the-premises technology in the region and has already attracted 500 customers.
According to BT, the new broadband service boasts download speeds of up to 100Mb and is part of the ISP’s wider fibre optic broadband initiative, which the company hopes will connect 270,000 premises by September of this year.
Johnny McQuiod, BT’s superfast broadband programme director, said that the new fibre optic internet solution will be made available to serviced offices in the region through a number of third-party ISPs – as well as through BT itself.
A similar fibre-to-the-premises service has just been launched by the telecoms giant in Southend and many more regions are expected to come on stream in the near future – including some rural areas.
