Staff working in the serviced offices of private businesses will feel more engaged with their work if they are allowed to muscle in on the decision-making process.
That’s according to the Private Business Forum, an organisation which provides business support and advice for companies in the UK, which suggested that people need to be involved if they are to be engaged.
Spokesman Phil McCabe said: “I think the vast majority of employees start a new job with an eager and enthusiastic attitude and genuinely want to help the company succeed. However, many lose motivation and become disillusioned and lazy because they feel they have no input into the way the business is being run.”
Letting individuals get involved with strategic decisions within the company will mean they feel as if they are making a contribution to the success of the business.
Meanwhile, this week marked the launch of the first International Ideas Week by ideasUK. The event is a celebration of employee ideas and innovations within the workplace.
