Access to the latest technology – like virtual office and mobile working solutions – is vitally important for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
According to the head of Vodafone Business Services Tom Craig, any company intent on expansion – despite the continued economic uncertainty – needs to embrace the latest trends in IT and networking.
Writing for Business Review Europe, Mr Craig said that one of the key features of the modern working environment is the mobile office – and this new development is ignored at SMEs’ peril.
“Recent technology advances have brought the prospect of a genuinely mobile office closer than ever. In fact mobile working in Europe has grown rapidly over the past few years,” he said.
Mr Craig added that smartphones were the driving force behind the widespread adoption of virtual offices and claimed that the growth of mobile working was set to continue over the coming 12 months as employees demand more flexibility.
Recently, Paul Daley, director of HR consulting and services at Ochre House, claimed that even recruitment was set to go mobile in the coming months.
