Human Resources departments working in office space in London and the rest of the UK are not making enough use of IT and HR technology, experts have said.
Unlike many other departments in businesses, HR executives are seen to be under-utilising the technology at their disposal to get the best out of the workforce, according to HR expert Mark Williamson.
Mr Williamson said: “The key is there is a whole host of data that we capture now in HR systems particularly around the large ERP-type [Enterprise Resource Planning] based systems. But it’s how we make use of that data and make it into really useable and insightful information for HR at the board table. That’s the gap for me at the moment.”
He added that he thought it was vital to use technology to forecast how HR can impact on the success of any given business over the coming years.
HR technology can help businesses in serviced offices and commercial offices use data to manage staff and improve productivity.
