Business Environment, a serviced office operator based in Basingstoke’s central business district, is celebrating after securing a place in the prestigious Sunday Times ‘Best Small Companies to Work For’ Awards. Scooping 38th position, the local company triumphed above 529 businesses from across the country to win a coveted place in the rankings.
The company was also commended for its commitment to employee wellbeing, finishing eighth in the country for its focus on providing employees with a positive work-life balance, management of work stress and pressure and the impact of these factors on personal health and performance.
To add to its plaudits, The Best Companies organisation awarded Business Environment a three star rating – the highest rating possible – for demonstrating it was an ‘exceptional place to work’. There are only 84 companies in the UK who received this rating for 2011.
More than 37,500 employees from all areas of business were surveyed nationally to get a ‘state of the nation’ picture of what constitutes a positive and nurturing working environment. An evaluation of each organisation’s key statistics, processes and policies were carried out, and from these findings the entrants obtained their rankings.
