60 runners representing clients and staff from BE Offices, Headspace Group, BE.Spoke and &Offices take part in the Standard Chartered Great City Race

In what was BE Offices 14th consecutive year of participating in the Great City Race, we were delighted to submit our biggest ever contingent of runners comprising a few members of staff but mostly clients from across our core brands of BE Offices, Headspace Group, BE.Spoke and &Offices.

The race took place on Tuesday 20th July, just one day after Freedom Day, and saw 2000 runners gather in Honourable Artillery Company Group, in weather that was less than favourable for the event to begin with, but turned into a beautiful evening.

Unable to go ahead in person last year, the race was switched to a Run From Home event with BE staff and clients taking part virtually. This year there was an option to participate virtually once again or in person which the vast majority of our clients and staff chose to do.

The unique 5km corporate running challenge follows a route from the grounds of Honourable Artillery Company on City Road, a short distance from BE Offices head office on Beech Street which is where runners gathered in advance of the race before heading off on mass to the starting point.

Through closed off City of London streets and back to the starting point the route takes runners back down Beech Street and passes by our Cheapside building, as well as very close to our Threadneedle Street building with participants also navigating historic sites such as The Guildhall and the Bank of England.

The annual event is this year supporting Futuremakers once again, with money raised going towards education, employability and entrepreneurship programmes for disadvantaged young people around the world. The Futuremakers by Standard Chartered programmes aim to make a difference in promoting economic inclusion and empowering our next generation to learn, earn and grow.  The programmes enable disadvantaged young people to learn new skills and improve their chances of getting a job or starting their own business, and include financial education training.
