Businesses working in serviced offices in London and other UK cities are putting themselves at unnecessary risk by failing to have sufficient health and safety awareness, according to personalinjurylawyers.co.uk.
Information gathered by personalinjurylawyers.co.uk found that just under three-quarters (73 per cent) of employees had admitted that they were unaware of the various health and safety procedures within their workplace.
Nicholas Tate, founder of personalinjurylawyers.co.uk, said that businesses could easily find themselves liable for accidents caused in the workplace because of a lack of health and safety awareness.
“Businesses are certainly putting themselves at risk as a result of a lack of health and safety awareness, as they could easily find themselves liable for accidents caused in the workplace. More importantly, by not having correct health and safety procedures in place and making sure people are aware of these procedures, they are also putting employees at risk of potentially serious injuries which could have a significant impact on their lives.”
Other notable findings included only a fifth (18 per cent) of respondents knowing what the fire safety procedures were in their workplace, while a third (28 per cent) were aware of who their dedicated health and safety manager was.
