Businesses that fail to recruit online could find themselves being left behind by the competition.
Serviced office spaces, which often incorporate virtual office environments, are quickly becoming the norm and firms that don’t adopt the latest technologies – like unified communications and cloud computing – could see their rivals poaching the best staff from under their noses.
According to specialist recruitment firm Ochre House, businesses that haven’t migrated their recruitment methods to online platforms are simply “thrashing around in the dark ages”.
Paul Daley, director of HR consulting and services at Ochre House, said: “At the moment, some people are using social recruiting and traditional methods, but sooner or later they’re going to give up on the traditional methods or they’ll be left high and dry.”
But that was the least stark prediction offered by Mr Daley.
He added: “If you’re not moving to using more forward-thinking online methods you’re going to go out of business in three years time.”
Recently, IT specialist ThinkGrid claimed that rapid technological developments were changing the face of modern business – including how workers use their office spaces.
