The way which companies deal with mobile working has been criticised, as it could lead to a substantial risk to data security.
Fasthosts Internet has said that business information security was being put at risk because employees were given too much freedom when they took work out of the office.
Steve Holford, marketing director at the company, said: “Too many workers are taking risks with work-related data and documents.”
He added that many workers were just left to their own devices when mobile working to think of a way to transfer and store data out of the office, which could lead to complacency and therefore a real risk to the business, which Mr Holford said was unnecessary.
It follows recently-released research from the company which showed that a worrying number of employees as it to putting work-related data at risk when they work away from the office.
