Encouraging healthy eating can be a great way of boosting morale in the workplace.
According to Carole Spiers, chief executive of the Carole Spiers Group, employers should do all they can to encourage healthy eating in the office space and even provide healthy snacks for workers throughout the day.
“Employers do not have to necessarily bring in the food for them, but what they [should be] trying to do is make people aware so they start bringing in the right foods themselves,” she said.
Ms Spiers added: “To ensure that you have a smooth running team, a pro-active team, an innovative and inspiring team, you have to [engage with] employees thorough what they’re eating and drinking.”
She said that office space team building exercises that revolve around workers’ wellbeing is a great way to get them thinking about healthy snacks and treats.
Business Environment’s marketing manager, Steve Moore, recently claimed that employers can tackle workplace stress with healthy treats like office fruit or on-site gym equipment.
