The days of business owners banning the use of social media in the office space are well and truly behind us.
According to Entrepreneur.com’s Burton Goldfield, the use of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube has gone way beyond marketing for some businesses.
Mr Goldfield claims that social media is becoming an increasingly effective way for office space entrepreneurs to align their corporate goals and boost employee engagement.
“These so-called Web 2.0 tools can help centralise activities within a company and foster collaboration among inter-departmental groups,” Mr Goldfield claimed.
He added: “The goal of internal social environments is to create a collaboration-focused community where teams stop working in silos.”
Recently, Office Cavalry claimed that 71 per cent of firms are considering boosting their social networking presence in the coming year.
The company’s founder Andy Turner said that a quarter saw the integration of social media into their day-to-day operations as a top priority.
