An office space expert has spoken out about the positive trends in office space in Manchester and has said that the city is following in the wake of office space in London.
Simon Jones, research project manager for independent office space specialist officebroker.com, said that more people are committing to office space in Manchester, suggesting a boost in this sector of the economy since last year.
He said: “In terms of the first quarter of 2010 compared to the first quarter of 2011 there’s only a three per cent difference but the real change there is the fact that within that same comparable period we’ve seen a 200 per cent increase in the number of people committing to office space. I think that’s a really positive sign”
Mr Jones also added that people are signing up to office space for longer, which again is a positive sign.
He also said that the city was following a trend set in London, which has seen a huge increase in demand in recent months.
Office space is being built quickly in London, but some critics have said that it is not enough to meet demand.
