Effective and engaging managers are the key to turning London office spaces into places that keep staff motivated.
According to the Institute for Employment Studies (IES), fine managers can get the best from their staff and offer their company strong results even when times are tough.
“It is often the line manager who is predominantly responsible for the mood of the team, and an effective, encouraging, engaging manager can motivate the team to produce excellent results,” Dilys Robinson, principal research fellow at the institute, said.
She added that ensuring managers are properly trained is another great way to make sure that staff can strike up a good relationship with them.
“Most employees encounter their line manager on a day-to-day basis so the relationship is very important,” she added.
Recently, research by insurer First Direct showed that a third of workers felt a casual dress code would help to boost their productivity in the workplace.
