Mobile working is most popular in marketing, business and sales
The use of smartphones and tablets for mobile working is more popular among professionals working in marketing, sales and business than any other sector.
A market expert said that professionals working within those sectors were the most likely to jump on any new technology release in a bid to increase their mobile working capabilities.
This speculation was revealed by Robby Gulri, vice-president of products for Echoworx, who was speaking at the Infosecurity Europe 2011 event.
He said: “It’s everywhere, not just in the world of security. Even when a new phone comes out with a new operating system and feature set, it’s the marketing, business and sales people who are talking more about it than IT. Even small businesses are starting to see five people in the company that have five different devices and five different ways of doing things.”
Insurance company IHC said last week that increased mobile working was helping to reduce the cost of absenteeism, as people were able to work from home if they could not head into the office.
