The government should be doing more to help businesses in serviced offices improve their green credentials, Summit Systems have said.
A spokesperson for the automated materials handling company said that a lot more needed to be done to help companies in the UK to become greener, and that help should come from the government.
She added: “It should be channelled through local councils who have only really been proactive in providing local communities not businesses, with different types of recycle bins. They are not proactive enough in other areas.”
The spokesperson added that if the government did not get involved with helping local businesses in this way it would have no chance of meeting its emissions targets, which present a dramatic challenge for ministers.
Decisions were recently made for the government to cut core grant funding for the Energy Saving Trust and Carbon Trust.
