Businesses based in serviced offices in Britain will be presented with dozens of opportunities as part of next year’s Olympics, and the UK tourism and hospitality industry is one of the sectors which will benefit the most.
However, according to People 1st, they will only reap the rewards if they up their customer service game in time for the big event.
Lesley Porter, who is a spokeswoman for the sector’s skills council, said: “We recognised quite some time ago that it was absolutely critical that the hospitality and tourism industry in particular had to focus on customer service ahead of the Olympics.”
Her comments follow the results of a survey by People 1st which revealed that 73 per cent of Britons feel that the country’s customer service is lacking.
Ms Potter said that she was unsurprised by the figure, but found it disappointing.
It looks like staff in the back rooms and offices of tourism and hospitality companies are set for a busy year!
