Security fears over the use of cloud computing in office space in Milton Keynes can be managed if thought through, experts have said.
Worries about compliance, resilience and flexibility have plagued the introduction of the cloud system in some offices around the UK, but the National Computing Centre said the risks are few if properly managed.
Head of marketing Richard Dean said: “Putting your data and services in the cloud can raise many questions such as, what if I need to terminate a service or change providers? How easy will it be to get hold of my data? What if my cloud services provider ceases to operate? Will the contract lock me in? What about flexibility? But your risks can be managed if they are thought through.”
Almost 50 per cent of all European firms are now using cloud, according to figures from Brocade and the Cloud Industry Forum, with a further 31 per cent expected to begin migration within the next year.
