Companies could save money and become greener through the use of carbon reduction software.
Simply deploying the software on a group of staff computers puts measures into place such as putting the machine to sleep when employees are away from their desks.
This could save the company up to 15 per cent of their daily power consumption, making them more efficient and go towards helping save the environment.
By reducing carbon in this way companies may find it easier to hit targets for more environmentally-friendly workplaces set either by themselves or outside forces.
Robert Hokin, chief executive of ecoConnect CIC, said: “What we’re seeing is as more and more organisations implement sustainable initiatives, a more holistic view of green technology is emerging and there are a number of ways that companies can reduce their overall consumption.”
