Mobile working is on the up, according to Smart Gorillas, and it is all thanks to the increase in popularity of smartphones.
Heather McLean, editor of online mobile news provide Smart Gorillas, said the power and agility of the devices helped people to have the opportunity to operate in a more flexible working environment.
She added: “Smartphones are having a massive impact on business life today. Over the past 18 months, these computers in your pocket have spread from the world of the consumer into the business world.”
Ms McLean added that apps which were tailored for the world of work were increasingly useful for business people.
Apple has recently released a new software system for its iPhones called iWork. It allows product users to create, edit and send documents from the palm of their hands.
Tablets such as the iPad and the RIM Playbook are already geared towards people using them for work, as they have larger screens and built in word processing software.
