Wow your co-workers with your mixology skills by whipping up some great tasting cocktails and make your Friday afternoon drinks go with a bang!
When the clock hits 5 o’clock on a Friday afternoon, a great way to round off the working week is with some office drinks. Not only is it the perfect way to unwind, but it can also help out with some much-needed bonding.
If you’re keen to introduce drinks into your Friday afternoon office routine and don’t fancy stocking up on beers and wines, why not try a simple cocktail?
We’ve put together some of our favourites tipples to get your creative juices flowing.
Aperol Spritz
Everyone’s new favourite alcoholic drink, Aperol Spritz is a refreshing Italian cocktail that will make you feel like you’re sitting on the terrace of an exclusive Cinque Terre café living the Dolce Vita.
Luckily, it also works pretty well in the office too, as it’s easy to make and a real crowd pleaser.
Fill an oversized wine glass with ice and pour over 3 parts sparkling wine, 2 parts Aperol and 1 part sparkling water, adding an orange slice for colour. Bellissimo!
Tom Collins
Fancy a change from the classic (and, admittedly, still pretty great) gin and tonic? Then why not try a Tom Collins. No-one really seems to be sure who Tom Collins was, but that doesn’t change the fact that this lemony extravaganza makes a great refreshment.
Mix 2 parts gin with 1 part lemon juice and a teaspoon of sugar in a cocktail shaker with ice and serve chilled.
Negroni
Another Italian classic, the Negroni is thought to have been invented in Florence back in 1919. These days, though, you’re more likely to find East London hipsters sipping Negroni and we can see why. This is a refreshing tipple that will be popular in the office.
Mix 1-part red Vermouth, 1-part Campari, and 1-part gin and serve it pre-chilled over ice.
Dark and Stormy
Bring the heat of the Caribbean to your after-work drinks with a Dark and Stormy. The only rum-based cocktail on our list, despite being fairly simple to make this drink really packs a punch when it comes to taste.
Mix 1-part dark rum with 2 parts ginger beer and serve over ice with a slice of lime. Try spiced rum for an extra kick.
Arizona Sunset
Some of your colleagues won’t want to drink alcohol at your after-work drinks, so make sure you give them something equally great by introducing them to an Arizona Sunset. It tastes great and looks even better, so don’t be surprised if everyone wants to try some!
Add a splash of Grenadine to a glass of ice and pour over 1-part lemon-lime mixed with 1 part orange juice. Garnish with cherries for the extra wow-factor.
