16th September 2010 heralded the grand final of The Pitch 2010, co-sponsored by Business Environment.
A superb business conference with talks from TV Dragon – Doug Richard, Enterprise Tsar Lord Young and Founder of Adeptra – Eric Van der Kleij, featured the highlight final event consisting of the regional winners of The Pitch.
The judges (Julie Meyer, Tim Campbell, Karen Darby & Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones) chose Active Minds to be the winner and receive £50,000 worth of business funding and support, from the six finalists. Active Minds, founded by Ben Atkinson-Willes, offers a range of award winning activity products specifically developed for people living with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
The event was a superb showcase for start-up and growing businesses and offered a great chance to hear tips from successful entrepreneurs and network amongst fellow business people.
