Working mums who have a busy time juggling work and looking after their children can still find time to keep fit, according to a health and wellbeing consultant.

Hermie Hogg, founder of Hermieopathy, explained that working mums needn’t have to hit the gym to get fit, but could get just as fit in the home.

Ms Hogg said they could walk up and down the stairs as much as possible, which meant that they didn’t have to stress about childcare costs or finding a babysitter as they were exercising from home.

She added: “Fresh air is important if you have been in the office all day, because the light goes through the eyes, which gives a sense of wellbeing.

“Mums could also buy a good exercise DVD, open the window, and do the stretches at home.”

A recent article published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine suggests that sedentary behaviour, or too much sitting, could potentially be bad for health as the body is not exercised at all.

Hermie Hogg is a health and wellbeing consultant. She has over 30 years [experience] in the restaurant industry and is a silver entrepreneur.
