Startup Britain has launched a new campaign aimed at potentially unleashing the great business ideas inside ordinary people.

Serviced and shared offices up and down the country could be teaming with brand new start-ups as a result of Business in You.

A total of nine entrepreneurs are backing the campaign, from co-founder of Moonfruit, Wendy Tan White, to boss of Moo, Richard Moross, in order to help swell their numbers.

It has also been backed by the prime minister, David Cameron, who said: “Small businesses and entrepreneurs are the lifeblood of the British economy. I am determined that we, working with the private sector, do everything we can to help them to start up and to grow in 2012. ”

Since the country is in the grip of the economic downturn and many people are experiencing unemployment coupled with the fact that business growth will help get the country back on track, now is a good time to start a new business.

Startup Britain hopes to inspire a million people to start down the path to building a new business in the next three years and this is one initiative to promote that.

A number of workshops and seminars are to be held in order to help those keen to get involved understand what to do next and how to make their idea a reality.

Some of these will be available online in order to make them accessible to a wide range of people with web tutorials from the experts offering advice.

Mr Cameron also revealed that he has an entrepreneur in the family in the form of his eight-year-old daughter Nancy.

She apparently spent New Year’s Day baking mince pies and then sold them on to her father’s protection officers, making a healthy profit by charging them £1 a piece.
