As virtual offices grow in popularity, the way businesses utilise the technology they offer will advance and, according to recruitment specialist Ochre House, the next step in office flexibility will by mobile recruitment.
The firm claims that smartphones will become a much more integral part of the recruitment process as business owners and would-be employees realise how “user-friendly” the devices are.
Paul Daley, director of HR consulting and services at the firm, said it is already clear that widespread internet adoption in the UK had encouraged many businesses to advertise their vacancies online.
“With the mobile web, you can just as easily transact with those companies and apply for jobs through that medium as well – it makes it even easier,” he said.
“It’s much more user-friendly than having to actually actively sit down at a desktop to look for a job,” Mr Daley concluded.
Recently, Colleen Baldwin, principal of design and business development at Straticom Planning Associates, told the Globe and Mail that mobile working was transforming the traditional office space once and for all.
