For many companies office space comes at a premium and businesses understandably want to make the absolute most out of the real estate they have.
However, it can be easy for serviced office spaces to get cluttered – particularly if employees don’t practice good housekeeping.
All it takes is for a defunct printer to be left gathering dust behind an unused desk and boxes to be piled up in the corner and your previously roomy serviced office space can start looking ‘cosy’ – to use a letting agent’s turn of phrase.
Judy Amoils, managing director of consulting services for CB Richard Ellis, said that huge amounts of office space often go unused.
Speaking to CTV news, Ms Amoils said: “Where we’ve gone in and done audits of space usage, sometimes we’re finding up to 25 per cent of space can be underutilised.”
Recently, the British Council for Offices said that businesses owners should be flexible with their office spaces if they are to make the most of them.
