A stress expert has claimed that there is a close link between work-related stress and financial woes.

Stress doctor Terri Bodell said that people who work in office space in London and the rest of the UK who are stressed are also likely to be experiencing finance-related worry as well.

She added that the two were “probably the two primary factors for stress,” and that the continuing risk of redundancy was increasing the problem.

“Work is a primary factor in our lives, and anything that goes on there is going to impact on us. With work issues and the fact that we’re still not fully out of the recession, there is still the concern of redundancy,” Ms Bodell commented.

She added that finances impacted on all areas of our lives.

The results of a study by Everyman released this week showed that the average Brit spends around 36 minutes a day worrying. That amounts to around 18 months in a lifetime.
