Virtual offices allow businesses to be more efficient and eco-friendly, according to Intellect.
The technology trade association explained that the virtualisation of servers and other applications was a “good thing to do” as it meant there was less utilisation of resources.
Ian Osborne, product director at Intellect, said that virtualisation was a popular way of making more efficient use of resources.
He said: “Instead of eight to ten per cent maybe on average, you can get up to fifty or sixty per cent and it potentially gives you much more capacity than you thought you had.”
Virtual offices are also beneficial to cutting costs and looking after the planet as less energy is expended.
A recent survey of 544 businesses across the UK, US, France and Germany found that 39.4 per cent had virtualised their offices.
Intellect is the UK’s technology trade association, providing a voice for over 800 members and driving connections between business and government.
