The StartUp Britain tour summer bus tour kicks off next week for a month long extravaganza of business-related activities and events.
A new campaign “by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs”, it has been designed in such a way as to “celebrate, inspire and accelerate enterprise in the UK”.
It has received backing from the coalition government.
David Cameron said: “We need to see a country where new businesses are starting up on every street, in every town; where entrepreneurs are everywhere.
“We put out a call to business to rise up and help us drive the recovery and StartUp Britain is part of the answer to that call.”
Comprised of a group of prominent experts, entrepreneurs, mentors and small business authors, the tour will start off in Bristol on August 22nd and finish off in York on September 23rd.
Emma Jones, co-founder and interim chief executive of StartUp, said: We will be meeting with students and helping them turn ideas into ventures and we’ll be visiting employees moving from employment into self-employment.”
As well as getting support from the government, the scheme has also received extensive backing from a number of companies including AXA, Microsoft, MITIE, PayPal, Barclays, Dell and Intel.
