The next generation in Britain should be well adept at mobile working if the findings of a recent survey are anything to go by.
Out of college students and professionals from 14 countries, Cisco Connected Technology found those from the UK were more likely to use mobile devices for news and information than any other country in Europe.
Almost three-quarters of the respondents from Britain stated that mobile devices such as smartphones and laptops were their primary information source.
Only China showed a higher rate of internet reliance with many UK youngsters admitting they would choose internet connectivity over owning a car.
An estimated 51,442,100 people in the UK use the internet, according to the UN agency for information and communication technologies, which is 82 per cent of the population.
Ian Foddering, technical director of Cisco, said: “The UK’s future workforce is becoming increasingly driven by their use and reliance of the Internet for everyday actions.”
