Business Environment in association with Business Networks sponsored “Splodge” the gorilla as part of Bristol Zoo’s WOW Gorilla campaign.
To celebrate the colourful exhibition of gorillas across Bristol, Business Environment launched a children’s story and picture competition.
Entries for the competition came in from across Bristol and was widely promoted by a number of schools and Bristol Zoo. The winner was announced as Owen Johnson aged 10.
Owens’ story was about seeing the Gorillas for the first time in Millennium square. The judges decided it captured the essence of the Wow Gorilla exhibition brilliantly.
Laura Raschka at Business Environment in Queens Road commented, “We are delighted to announce the winner of our Wow! Gorillas competition. Owens story was wonderful but it was difficult to pick a winner from the entries. Thank you to everyone who entered. We hope you enjoyed visiting the Gorillas during the summer holiday”.
The competition closing date was extended due to popular demand to allow children to enter once they had gone back to school.
Business Environment is the proud sponsor of Komale, a male gorilla born in December 2006.
Although Komale may be small, he has an amazing grip and is able to hold on to his mother, Salome, with great ease. He was very dependent on Salome for the first three years of his life, but has now become more independent and enjoys joining Namoki to cause trouble. Komale is full of personality and is the apple of Salome’s eye.
