Shared offices can lead to romantic liaisons and it has now emerged that one in three office workers has had a work based affair, reports the Telegraph.

The survey commissioned by Sony of 2,000 workers across fields such as law, marketing and finance also found senior members of staff were worse than their younger counterparts.

It is five times more likely for a member of the 35 to 44-year-old age group to lose their job through promiscuity at work than an 18 to 24-year-old.

As well as office affairs other bad behaviour which was prevalent in the over 35s included attending a meeting with a hangover or still drunk.

They are also the most likely to spread gossip with one in four admitting starting a rumour about a fellow member of staff.

High profile office affairs have included the one between John Prescott and his then secretary, Tracey Temple, showing even politicians aren’t immune.
