BE Offices supports carbon neutral ambitions through Treeapp’s certified global tree planting projects.
BE Offices is delighted to have partnered with Treeapp to support reforestation projects across the globe as a means of offsetting a portion of its carbon emissions.
Treeapp is a purpose-led B-Corp organisation enabling individuals to plant a tree for free every day to offset their personal carbon emissions simply by discovering associated eco-conscious brands such as L’Occitane, HelloFresh, Clim8, allplants and many more.
Treeapp’s business platform enables forward-thinking organisations to support reforestation projects in 12 countries spread across Asia, Africa and South America where local tree planting partners are scrutinised by Treeapp’s consortium of tropical forestry experts to ensure all projects adhere to strict criteria surrounding ethical tree planting, transparency and use-of-funds.
Founded in 2019, Treeapp has planted over a million trees in projects located in Brazil, Peru, Haiti, Madagascar, Kenya, Guinea, Burundi, Tanzania, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Indonesia and Nepal. All tree-planting activities not only have environmental benefits, but also a social and economic impact by working closely with local communities and indigenous people.
69 football fields of forests are being cut down every minute around the world with 8,000+ species at risk of extinction every year. In 2019 alone an area greater than the size of the UK was deforested.
Forests are essential for all living organisms and the restoration of vital ecosystems critical to decelerating the devastating effects of climate change.
BE Offices has so far planted 250 trees equating to 500 sq mtrs of land reforested, with a further 250 trees promised through its new telecommunications partner, Refresh Technologies, who have committed to plant a tree on BE Offices’ behalf for every desk phone purchased by BE. Refresh Technologies will be providing 150 new phones to BE’s Aldgate business centre and initially 100 phones for BE’s prestigious new building in Belfast, Custom House, with a further 500 to follow.
Trees are planted to celebrate the birthday’s of BE Offices staff or on the occasion of a baby being born to a staff member.
