With the UK’s economy growing for the fifth consecutive quarter, Milton Keynes is seeing a surge in demand for office space as businesses regain confidence, says local serviced office provider Business Environment, whose Milton Keynes site is at its highest occupancy rate (94%) on record.
John Edwards, centre manager for Business Environment in Milton Keynes (pictured) said: “When the economy is on the up we see a direct increase in demand for office space as confidence grows among business owners keen to expand their firms. We have seen a real step change in Milton Keynes and our occupancy rates are up 10 per cent compared to 2012 – something which is unprecedented since the financial crash.”
Business Environment attributes the uptake in office space to the dynamism of existing businesses in Milton Keynes, as well as the proliferation of smaller start ups.
“The good news is that this regained confidence goes across the board” adds Edwards “a number of our existing customers have performed so well that they have expanded their business, increasing profits and employing more people. In addition to this, we have seen upswing in the demand for office space from new customers, demonstrating that smaller businesses are also experiencing a period of growth.
