Just last month business owners were urged to encourage their staff to cycle to the office by the Cycle to Work Alliance (CWA).
The CWA claimed that as well as promoting general wellbeing, a cycle to work programme could actually boost office space productivity and reduce the number of sick days people take.
One of the problems for many employers, however, is bike storage.
With nowhere for staff to put bikes, cycling schemes can quickly become a logistical nightmare.
However, the problem appears to have been solved by cutting-edge design firm Store MUU.
The firm has created the world’s first office space bike rack that doubles as a desk.
One of the downsides appears to be the seating situation.
Coolest Gadgets’ writer Mark R said: “I believe that using a bike seat as a desk chair is probably going to be the most uncomfortable [thing], especially if you are male.”
“I could expound on that, but I won’t bother,” he added.
