New app makes Facebook work appropriate

Companies based in serviced offices and other accommodation might benefit from a new professional networking app that is designed to allow users on Facebook the ability to establish work-based connections.

Monster Worldwide, the online employment company, has launched BeKnown, which allows employees on Facebook the ability to identify and connect with professional contacts from a range of sources.

Darko Dejanovic, global chief information officer and head of product at Monster Worldwide, told HR magazine that the app was an answer to the needs and challenges in the marketplace that allowed Facebook users the ability to keep personal and work-related contacts and content separate.

 He said: “An estimated 700 million people globally live their lives through Facebook and 97 per cent of the Fortune 500 companies turn to Monster to find talent.

“BeKnown now gives people and companies the ability to utilise that vast network for professional gain by tapping into the power of Monster and Facebook.”

The possibilities are endless. If Facebook were a country, it would be the third most populated one behind India and China.
