Businesses based in serviced offices and other accommodation are being urged to use the upcoming World Environment Day (WED) to engage with environmental issues in the workplace.
Global Action Plan has advised employers to use the day, on June 5th, as a catalyst to change in the office.
Chief executive officer Trewin Restorick said: “There are a number of things that businesses can do. We would recommend that people use WED as inspiration to kick start lasting change by setting up a green team at work.”
He added that this could help to keep the enthusiasm for the day going and ensure that green changes are made in the workplace.
Global Action Plan has suggested just making small changes such as recycling, turning off lights or not eating meat for the day could make a huge difference.
World Environment Day follows Green Office Week, which took place at the beginning of May.
