BT Engage IT, the IT services arm of the telecoms giant, is to boost its staff with the recruitment of 40 new IT sales professionals and a host of new apprentices.
The move, which constitutes the company’s biggest recruitment drive to date, will boost its offerings for businesses based in serviced offices and independent offices around the country.
It will also mean that it focuses more on the development of its IT product, professional and managed services, and business support services.
Around 20 school-leavers will be taken on as apprentices in the next six months as the company launches its new apprenticeship programme. Those selected will stay with the company for three years and will train for qualifications which will help equip them for a long-term career in IT.
Martin Balaam, managing director at BT Engage IT, said: “We are at a really exciting time for the business, and have set ourselves some ambitious targets.”
BT Engage IT provides comprehensive IT packages for companies, organisations and local councils throughout the UK from its bases in areas including Derbyshire and Letchworth Garden City.
