The widespread use of smartphones in the office space is changing the way that staff respond to ever-shifting consumer and client demands.
According to Martin Lyne, director of small and medium-sized enterprise marketing at T-Mobile, mobile technologies are becoming increasingly important in ensuring companies are more flexible and adaptable – particularly during the uncertain economic climate.
“Mobile technology is becoming increasingly important in all walks of life,” Mr Lyne said.
He added: “Small businesses need to be flexible and available at all times, regardless of whether [staff are] in the office or on the road.”
“Smartphones especially help small business workers to remain responsive to queries through calls, texts and emails at any time and any place,” he added.
Recently, the Telework Association noted that the benefits of flexible working practices in service office spaces were clear. Companies can save money, improve customer service and overcome business continuity issues using flexible, mobile working technology, the organisation claimed.
