Business Environment Centre Manager Yasmine Shah (Barbican) and Assistant Centre Manager Jade Armitage (Basingstoke) are readying themselves for the adventure of a lifetime to Nepal on a two week volunteering mission sponsored entirely by Business Environment.
Following the success of the volunteering trip to Cambodia last year, Business Environment is once again sponsoring two employees to go on a life changing trip, this year half way around the world, to Nepal.
Yasmin and Jade will be involved with projects at orphanages and day care centres, working with local volunteers to guide and advise them.
The ladies will receive basic instruction in Nepalese but will not be expected to speak any of the local language. They will work 5 days a week for around 6 hours and in their free time they will be able to enjoy the wide range of breath-taking tourist attractions or take one of the popular Himalayan treks, experience paragliding or white water rafting.
The opportunity to take part in the trip was open to all Business Environment Group employees with interested parties asked to submit three sentences as to why they wanted to go and what they thought they could offer to the volunteering projects.
Although the trip is entirely funded by Business Environment, Jade and Yasmine have set up a fundraising page to raise extra cash for the orphanage at which they will be working. They have already raised £750 but welcome further donations: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=B.EGreenGroup-Nepal&isTeam=true
We will be following the ladies throughout their trip and look forward to seeing the smiles they will bring to the faces of the children they will be helping.
