After a week on the reef our travellers returned to the mainland for the weekend and some recreational time off……
We went to some Mayan ruins on Saturday which were incredible, it was so interesting to learn about their history and the reasons behind all of their architecture. We saw some howler monkeys there and even some bats!

On Sunday we ran a few errands and bought bits we needed for another week on the island, then we got caught in the rain, it just bucketed it down ALL afternoon!
